Something weird happened in China in 2013.
12 police stations across the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region introduced new recruits for their night watch patrols.
A squad of fierce sentries that would put fear in the hearts and minds of many thieves.
I'm not talking about Pit Bulls or German Shepherds.
I'm talking about geese.
Yes, the geese police is real… and since their first enrolment in the force, geese have helped police officers across China keep peace and order in many rural communities. | | Why geese?
In the words of Hong Gang, director of the Dongwan police station:
"Geese are highly vigilant, especially at night. They won't stop honking until the threat has gone and if one sounds the alarm the rest will follow."
Geese are natural-born sentries.
Even Rome was once saved by a flock of geese.
Sounds crazy, but back in 390 B.C, the invading Gauls were making their way up the Capitoline hill to siege the City.
The Roman soldiers and their dogs didn't notice a thing, but the geese did. And they honked like mad, alerting the Romans of the incoming danger.
| | In similar fashion, OptinMonster's Exit Intent Technology alerts your website visitors of a potential opportunity they're going to miss if they leave the page.
As soon as their cursor moves in the direction of the tab section, a Popup is displayed to stop them in their tracks.
It gives you a 2nd chance at convincing them to take action, just like the geese gave the Roman soldiers a 2nd chance at defending Rome against the Gauls.
So in that sense, OptinMonster has its own geese police.
And while the popup can't honk, it can ping, pong, and flam.
You can add any of these sound effects (and more) to your campaign to capture attention easily.
Not bad, right?
