Hey alluser,
Today we're kicking off the first part of our 'Traffic Generation Made Easy' email series.
Depending on how much we cover and the questions you have, this might turn into a 4 or 5-part series… so buckle up and enjoy the ride!
Part 1: Traffic is an illusion. ๐
When most people think about traffic, they picture numbers in a Google Analytics report.
It's easy to forget that you're not just trying to get more numbers on your site – you're trying to attract more PEOPLE.
And not just anyone.
Unless you're focused solely on ad placement revenue and only care about volume, you want people who are at least somewhat interested in what you're promoting or selling.
To identify exactly who these people are, you should create a Customer Avatar or Buyer Persona (BP) for your business.
It might sound like a clichรฉ, but without this, planning your traffic generation strategy will be tough.
❌ You won't know what platforms your ideal prospects or customers use.
❌ You won't know what they're interested in.
❌ You won't know what topics they search for, how they make decisions, and so on.
You get the idea.
I strongly recommend taking some time to research and create this Buyer Persona. It will shape everything else you do in your marketing.
You can start by reading this article: What Is a Buyer Persona, & How Do You Create One (Free Buyer Persona Templates & Questions)
This will set you up for success and make it much easier to apply the methods, tactics, and strategies we'll cover in the next parts of this series. ๐
Without it, you'll either get poor results or stay stuck in information-gathering mode.
Even if you already have a Buyer Persona or Customer Avatar for your business, it's still worth reading the article. You might find ways to improve what you've created so far.
Starting next week, with your Buyer Persona ready, we'll dive into practical ways to drive quality traffic to your website, like SEO, Paid Ads, Organic Social Media, Partnerships, and more. ๐ฏ
If you're not sure where to start your research for your BP, here are some tips:
- Look at your current customers (if you have any). Conduct surveys and interviews for more insights.
- Check out forums and social media groups in your industry/niche. Look at the posts there and ask questions.
- Analyze your competitors to see what type of people engage with their content.
- Use analytics tools (like Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, etc.) to gather data on your website visitors, including demographics, behaviors, and interests.
- Utilize keyword research tools to discover what your potential customers are searching for online.
- Examine customer feedback and reviews on competitor products.
- Have a conversation with ChatGPT and ask it to act like a potential customer you're interviewing.
Don't overthink it. ๐ค
You can always update and make changes later. For now, the key is to have a general idea of who you're trying to attract to your website, even if that image isn't completely clear yet.
If you have any questions, reply to this email.
See you there!
