I want to address a common roadblock people face when they try to sell things online.
And that is – "My website is not converting".
Ads work well. SEO traffic is good and steady. Volume is high.
But no sales… or very few.
What to do?
I'm going to talk about how to diagnose the core problem, and how to fix it.

Now let's talk about diagnosing the core problem.
The first thing you have to do is take a hard look at your offer, and the traffic you're driving to your website.
If you're selling dog food, but your website visitors are not dog owners… your problem is the traffic source.
Your paid ads targeting is probably not correct, or your organic traffic comes from the wrong keywords.
That's the first thing you want to look at, and then fix.
Next comes the offer.
If your product or service is not perceived as valuable – people won't buy.
Value comes from many things and it's often not related to price. Does your product actually solve the problem you're claiming it solves?
If it doesn't, you need to forget about marketing and work on your product.
If it does, but it takes a long time and effort to solve it, that's not good either.
If I need dog food in 3 days, and you can only deliver it in 3 weeks, plus I have to go to the post office myself to get it… I won't buy even if the product is very good, because I need it in 3 days.
The gist of it is – do an autopsy of your product without attaching your identity to it.
Cut what doesn't work, add what needs to be added.
If both your traffic and product/service are good, only then you can say your website is the problem.
- ❌ It can be a technical problem (e.g people can't add products to cart, your checkout is not working, or load speed is slow)
- ❌ It can be a user experience problem (e.g. text is too small to read, buttons don't look like buttons so no one clicks on them, you have banner ads everywhere)
- ❌ Or it can be a marketing problem (e.g. you sell features not benefits, you don't have social proof, people don't understand how the product works)
Once again you have to eliminate every possible issue, one by one.
Start with the technical, continue with the user experience, and finish with the marketing.
Go through the entire journey as a random prospect would to find out where things are clunky or broken.
If you do all this, you should be able to improve your conversion rate and start to make sales.
